Demorei um pouco pra postar o disco novo do Placebo porque preferi ouvir com cuidado antes de sair falando qualquer asneira.
O disco ainda não saiu oficialmente, mas obviamente, devido ao advento da internet, isso não é mais problema pra nós (e sim pra eles).
Logo de cara a impressão abranda, pois o som dos ingleses continua o mesmo, não experimentaram tanto quanto o Muse em 2006 com Black Holes and Revelations.
Essência intacta, vamos às músicas: são 13 faixas típicas, altos e baixos, algumas bem pesadas, outras bem calmas e depressivas (como é de praxe).
"Kitty Litter", "Ashtray Heart", "Battle for the Sun", "For What it's Worth", "Bright Lights" e "Breathe Underwater" são as minhas preferidas, todas bem melódicas levando aquela pegada típica dos ingleses. "Devil in the Details" também merece destaque, bem como "Happy You're Gone" e "Julien" com seus arranjos orquestrais, e a baladinha "Speak in Tongues", a mais britânica do disco, ficou uma mistura de Muse com U2!
Battle for the Sun é o primeiro disco depois da saída do ex-baterista Steve Hewitt, Steve Forrest juntou-se à banda e conseguiu manter o mesmo nível do ex-integrante, os fãs podem ficar tranquilos porque não sentirão falta das batidas do antecessor, embora o carisma e a presença de palco de Hewitt sejam insubstituíveis. Boa sorte para ele em seus outros projetos!
Disco recomendadíssimo, principalmente se você é um doido varrido por Placebo igual eu.
